This spot is a 360-acre Lyonia Preserve established by Volusia County's government and school board to safeguard and restore Florida's unique and dwindling scrub ecosystem. Starting behind the Deltona Regional Library and the Lyonia Environmental Center, three hiking-only routes (.4 miles, 1.2 miles, and 2.4 miles) snake through the protected grounds (LEC). Interpretive displays, educational events, and guided tours are also available at the LEC as introductions to this unique location.
